Spring at a macro level

Spring has well and truly sprung. Shot these close up images on Sunday. Beautiful day with shrubs in the garden covered in honey bees which I struggled to track with a macro lens. Got a few though. Ladybirds seemed to be enjoying it too!

You need to be very accurate with focusing and, believe me, there are plenty of rejects. A dedicated macro lens such as this Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 prime allows you to focus much closer than would be possible with a conventional optic.
